The confrontation between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Holger Rune takes place this Sunday, October 23, in a match valid for the Grand Final of the ATP 250 Stockholm in its 2022 version. Confirming the favoritism in all his matches, the number 5 in the world and main seed table's key player, Stefanos Tsitsipas, will be in contention for the title and could win the third-tier ATP Tour this season alone. How the Stockholm ATP 250 works

The ATP 250 Stockholm is a traditional competition on the ATP World Tour calendar, reaching its 52nd edition in 2022. This year, the main highlight will be the Greek number 5 in the world, Stefanos Tsitsipas, who has already won the ATP Stockholm in 2018 and is the big favorite for the title this year. On the other side of the table, we will have the British number 14 in the world, Cameron Norrie, who is also having a great season and can surprise in the competition. The prize pool for the ATP 250 Stockholm is €711,275, and the tournament in 2022 will run from October 17 to October 23.

Stefanos Tsitsipas

At first, Stefanos Tsitsipas currently occupies number 5 in the ATP ranking, reaching the best position of his career in August 2021, when he was number 3 in the world ranking. Able to win his tenth ATP World Tour title and his third in the current season alone, the 24-year-old Greek appears as a big favorite for the title in the Swedish competition. In his excellent run for the ATP 250 Stockholm, he started by beating American Maxime Cressy in a double tie-break. He then eliminated the Swedish Mikael Ymer without major problems in straight sets, in partials of 7-5 and 6-3. Finally, with great ease, he beat the young Finnish Emil Ruusuovori, again by two sets to 0 in partial doubles 6-2. What is most impressive about Tsitsipas' solid campaign is the athlete's solid service game, who managed to convert 26 out of 30 serve games throughout his career.

Holger Rune

On the other hand, Holger Rune currently occupies number 27 in the ATP rankings, reaching the best position of his career in August this year, when he was number 26 in the world. Coming in for yet another title challenge in his short career, which began in mid-2020, the 19-year-old Dane can lift his second ATP World Tour cup, having only won the ATP 250 Munich this year. In his campaign for the ATP 250 Stockholm, he started by easily beating Brazilian Thiago Monteiro in the first round 2-0. Then, another easy victory against Chilean Cristian Garin in straight sets. In the quarterfinals, he faced a "quarry," the number 14 in the world Cameron Norrie, where he was not intimidated and beat the British by two sets to 1. In his last match, in another great battle, he won the Australian Alex de Minaur in the semifinals for two sets to 1.
